Upper portion of Shittaka off of Kettle RD. Bear Meadows bridge closed.

Trail Access Update: Corner Road/Camp Trail access to Tussey Mtn Trail is closed during all Hunting Seasons.

  • DEER, ARCHERY: Sept. 29–Nov. 10 and Dec. 26–Jan. 12
  • WILD TURKEY: Oct. 27–Nov. 17, April 19–End of Spring Gobbler Season
  • BLACK BEAR: Nov. 19–21
  • DEER: Nov. 26–Dec. 8

Also: PA Gamelands (Scotia):  Closed to riding except except for Sundays starting the weekend of September 29.

The Private land owners, who allow access to their land, have asked that cyclists remain off their trails during all major hunting seasons. As always, please respect private property. These land owners have been kind enough to allow us to use their trails during the rest of the year.

NMBA Mountain Bike Ride in Rothrock
Meet at the forestry lot (1/4 mile past Tussey Mountain Ski Area, on the LEFT).
Wednesdays at 6 p.m. starting April 5.

Group Mountain Rides
Meet at the forestry lot (1/4 mile past Tussey Mountain Ski Area, on the LEFT). Join The Bicycle Shop in our Mountain Bike group ride. This ride is designed for intermediate to expert level enthusiasts and will include very technical terrain. This is not a speed ride, but it will require the rider to be familiar with mountain riding

Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. starting April 4. Call the shop at 238.9422 if you need to carpool to Tussey.


Early Riser Road Rides
Road rides leave the shop at 7:30 a.m. Sundays. These are generally at an easy pace.

Tadpole Time Trials
These are ten-mile, indvidual road time trials organized by the Central Penn Racing club. Time trials are held the last Thursday of each month at the corner of Tadpole and Whitehall Roads west of State College. Please see CPR's flyer by clicking here.

Trail Shingletown Loop
Location Shingletown Gap -State College, PA

Trailhead Turn onto mounatin Road off of Rt. 45. Park in the lot at the end of the road. Stop in the shop and ask for a trail map.
Description Lots of rocks, and roots. The main trail follows a stream. Lots of side trails in this area.

Ride Tussey Mt. Loop

Trailhead 2 miles past Tussey Mt. Ski area on the left there is a small dirt road called Camp Rd-(Camp Rd Trail is CLOSED UNTIL May 26 end of Spring Gobbler Season). Go to the end of the road, across the wire and up the single track trail on your right. Stop in the shop and ask for a trail map.
Description Some fire roads and lots of rocks balance out the very technical and fun, yet level singletrack.
